Philippine Hawk-Cuckoo, Hierococcyx pectoralis, is a cuckoo of the Philippines, breeding across the Oriental Region there except the Sulu Archipelago. It was described by Cabanis and Heine in 1863 and is now treated as a separate species. It is a medium-sized bird with dark-grey upperparts and white underparts, plus a pale rufous breast and upper belly. The tail shows black and buff bars, a broad dark band near the end, and a pale rufous tip. A bare yellow eye-ring, yellow legs and feet, and a black and olive bill complete the adult plumage.
