The plumage of the Philippine Needletail is predominantly iridescent green, with a contrasting white or buff-colored throat. It is known for its distinctive high-pitched calls and acrobatic aerial displays during courtship. Due to habitat loss and deforestation, the population of the Philippine Needletail is declining, and it is currently classified as Vulnerable by the IUCN.
