Pied Crow, Corvus albus, is an African passerine found from Mauritania to Sudan and Somalia, south to South Africa, and on islands including Madagascar, the Comoros, Aldabra, Iles Glorieuses, Juan de Nova and Europa. It is the most widespread Corvus in Africa and is usually seen in open country near villages and towns. Its plumage is marked by a broad white area from the shoulders to the lower breast, set against a glossy black head, neck, tail, bill and wings. It was first described by Müller in 1776.
