Oceanites pincoyae
Pincoy's storm petrel is a small seabird found in the southern Pacific Ocean. It has a dark plumage with a white rump and a distinctive white patch on the underwings. This species is known for its graceful flight and its habit of skimming the waves while foraging for small fish and squid. Pincoy's storm petrel nests in burrows on remote islands and spends most of its life at sea, only returning to land to breed. It is a highly pelagic species, rarely coming close to shore except during stormy weather. Due to its remote breeding sites and elusive nature, much about its life history remains a mystery to researchers.
