Pink-billed Lark

Spizocorys conirostris (Sundevall, 1850)

Pink-billed Lark, Spizocorys conirostris, is a lark in the family Alaudidae that occurs in southern Africa. It lives in subtropical or tropical dry lowland grassland. One notable feature is its pink bill. Six subspecies are recognised, with the species ranging from north-western Namibia and north-eastern Botswana through western and south-western Zambia to southern Namibia, southern Botswana and much of South Africa. It was first described by Sundevall in 1850. A low breeding success rate has been recorded for this bird.
