Pink Pigeon, Nesoenas mayeri, is a pigeon of Mauritius in the western and central Mascarenes, with a former breeding presence on Réunion. It belongs to the Columbidae family and was described by Prévost in 1843. It is the only Mascarene pigeon that has not died out. The species came close to disappearing in the 1970s and again in the 1990s, and it was reduced to just 10 birds in 1991. Numbers have risen since conservation work began in 1977.
