Pink Robin

Petroica rodinogaster

The Pink Robin (Petroica rodinogaster) is a small passerine bird native to southeastern Australia. It is known for its distinctive pink plumage on the breast and belly, with the male having a darker shade of pink than the female. This species is often found in wet forests, gullies, and rainforests, where it forages for insects and small invertebrates on the forest floor. The Pink Robin is known for its melodious song, often heard during the breeding season. While not currently considered threatened, habitat loss and fragmentation pose potential risks to its populations.
