Piratic Flycatcher Legatus leucophaius is a passerine of the tyrant flycatcher family, found across Middle America and much of South America. It is widespread in Mexico, Central America, Trinidad and Tobago, and on the mainland from Colombia south through the continent, with only Chile absent from the regular range. It is the only species in Legatus. Adults show a blackish head with a partly concealed yellow crown patch, a broad pale eyebrow, and whitish underparts marked with brownish or olive streaking. Juveniles lack the yellow crown patch.
