Pirre Warbler

Basileuterus delattrii

The Pirre Warbler (Basileuterus delattrii) is a small, insectivorous bird found in the cloud forests of the Darién Gap in Panama and Colombia. It is known for its distinctive yellow face and olive-green upperparts. This warbler is often observed foraging in the dense undergrowth, hopping from branch to branch in search of insects and small invertebrates. Its melodious song can be heard echoing through the misty forests. The Pirre Warbler is highly adapted to the unique microclimates found in the cloud forests, where it plays a vital role in the ecosystem as a predator of insects.
