Pitt Shag, Phalacrocorax featherstoni, is a cormorant and shag of the Chatham Islands, breeding on Pitt Island east of South Island, New Zealand. It was described by Buller in 1873. It is tied to open sea and rocky shore habitat. Its dark body, grey chest, yellow eyes and feet help set it apart. It may be seen in small groups around breeding sites or on its own within 18 km of its territory while feeding. The species was once close to extinction, and a recovery plan is in place through the Department of Conservation.
