Plain-backed Antpitta, Grallaria haplonota, is a bird of the family Grallariidae that breeds in northern Venezuela, western Colombia and northern Peru. It was described by Sclater, PL, in 1877. It is a montane forest bird of the floor and understory, especially in damp woodland interiors and at the edges, and it also uses creek sides, steep ground and fresh openings after treefall. The species has a broken range, with separate populations that do not meet. It is resident across its range.
