Anthreptes neglectus
The Plain-throated Sunbird is a small, colorful bird found in the forests and woodlands of Southeast Asia. This species is known for its vibrant plumage, with the male sporting iridescent green and blue feathers, while the female has a more subdued olive-green coloration. These sunbirds are nectar feeders and play an important role in pollination. They are often observed darting between flowers with their long, curved bills. The Plain-throated Sunbird builds its cup-shaped nest using plant fibers and spider silk, often suspended from the branches of trees. Despite their small size, these birds are agile and acrobatic flyers, capable of hovering and maneuvering with precision.
