Plain White-eye

Zosterops inornatus

The Plain White-eye (Zosterops inornatus) is a small passerine bird found in the Pacific Islands. It has a distinctive white ring around its eye, with a plain olive-green back and wings, and a yellow belly. This species is known for its cheerful and melodious song, often heard in forested areas. Plain White-eyes are highly social birds, often seen in small flocks foraging for insects and nectar. They play a vital role in pollination and seed dispersal within their island habitats. Despite their adaptability to a variety of environments, habitat loss and introduced predators pose significant threats to their populations.
