Planalto Slaty Antshrike, Thamnophilus pelzelni, is a passerine of the antbird family found in eastern and south-central Brazil. It was described by Hellmayr in 1924 and is part of the group known as Thamnophilidae. This bird is tied to forested country, especially deciduous and semi-deciduous woodland in the north of its range and gallery forest farther south and west. It also occurs at the edges of evergreen forest. In most areas it stays in the understorey and middle layers, and it is a resident throughout its range.
