Plumbeous Euphonia, Euphonia plumbea, is a finch in the family Fringillidae and occurs in South America, with a main range in Brazil, Colombia, Guyana, Peru, Suriname and Venezuela, plus French Guiana as a vagrant. It was first described by Du Bus de Gisignies in 1855. The species is monotypic. It lives in open woodland, scrub, savannah with scattered trees, wooded edges and rocky scrub, mostly on white-sand ground. It is generally resident but wanders unpredictably, so it may turn up unexpectedly at any site.
