Euphonia plumbea
The Plumbeous Euphonia is a small, strikingly colored bird found in the forests and woodlands of Central and South America. This species is known for its vibrant blue plumage on the head and upperparts, contrasting with a yellow throat and underparts. The male has a bright yellow forehead, while the female has a duller olive-green head. Plumbeous Euphonias primarily feed on fruits and insects, often foraging in the canopy of trees. They are known for their melodious and varied songs, which contribute to their charm and appeal. Although not currently considered at risk, habitat loss and fragmentation pose potential threats to their populations.
