Plumbeous Hawk

Buteo plagiatus

The Plumbeous Hawk is a medium-sized bird of prey found in Central and South America. It has a distinctive slate-gray plumage with a paler gray head and chest. This species is known for its broad wings and long tail, which enable it to soar effortlessly in search of prey. Plumbeous Hawks are often found in forested areas, where they hunt for small mammals, reptiles, and large insects. They are known for their keen eyesight and agile hunting techniques. While not currently considered threatened, habitat loss and deforestation pose potential risks to their populations in some regions.
