Plumbeous Water Redstart, Phoenicurus fuliginosus, is a passerine in the Muscicapidae family that breeds from eastern Afghanistan to eastern China and Taiwan. It is closely tied to fast-flowing streams and rivers, especially where boulders and riverside vegetation provide cover. The male is slate blue with a rusty red tail, while the female is pale grey and has a white rump. The name reflects the bird’s lead-like colouring. It was described by Vigors in 1831 and is placed in the order Passeriformes.
