Guttera plumifera (Cassin, 1857)

Plumed Guineafowl, Guttera plumifera, is a guineafowl of humid primary forest in western and central Africa. It is placed in the family Numididae and was described by Cassin in 1857. It is similar to some forms of Crested Guineafowl, but its crest is straighter and set higher, and it has a long wattle on each side of the bill. In the western nominate form, the bare skin of the face and neck is dull grey-blue throughout, while the eastern form shows a few orange patches within the grey-blue.
