Point-tailed Palmcreeper, Berlepschia rikeri, is a passerine of the Furnariidae family in Amazonia, where it lives across South America. It is the only species in its genus and has no subspecies. The bird is tied mainly to Mauritia palm swamps and also uses forest and other palm-rich places. It stays in the same area all year. Its tail is pointed, with stiffened feather bases, and the sexes look alike. Adults show black-and-white streaking on the head and underparts, with bright chestnut on the lower back, rump, wings and tail.
