Pompadour Green Pigeon

Treron pompadora

The Pompadour Green Pigeon (Treron pompadora) is a medium-sized pigeon species found in the forests and woodlands of Southeast Asia. It is known for its striking plumage, with males displaying a vibrant green head and neck, a purple patch on the chest, and a yellowish-green body. Females have a more subdued coloration with a greyish-green head and neck. These pigeons are primarily frugivorous, feeding on a variety of fruits and berries. They are often observed perched high in the canopy, where they can be difficult to spot due to their cryptic coloration.
