Ploceus preussi
Preuss's weaver (Ploceus preussi) is a small songbird found in the forests and woodlands of West Africa. This species is known for its distinctive yellow and black plumage, with males displaying brighter colors during the breeding season. Preuss's weavers are highly social birds, often seen in large flocks foraging for insects and seeds. They construct intricate, woven nests suspended from tree branches, using grass and other plant materials. Their melodious songs and acrobatic flight displays add to their charm. Unfortunately, habitat loss and fragmentation pose significant threats to the population of Preuss's weavers.
