Prince Russet

Geokichla princei

The Prince Russet (Geokichla princei) is a medium-sized thrush found in the montane forests of Borneo. It has a distinctive rufous-brown plumage with a white belly and a striking black and white streaked throat. This species is known for its melodious and flute-like song, often heard during the early morning and late evening. The Prince Russet forages on the forest floor for insects, earthworms, and berries. Its population is currently stable, but it faces potential threats from habitat loss due to deforestation.
