The Puerto Rican Nightjar is a nocturnal bird native to the island of Puerto Rico. It is known for its distinctive call, which is often heard at dusk and throughout the night. This species has a mottled brown and gray plumage that provides excellent camouflage against the forest floor. The Puerto Rican Nightjar is a skilled aerial hunter, feeding on insects in flight. It prefers to inhabit dry forests, scrublands, and coastal areas. Due to habitat loss and predation, the population of this species is declining, and it is currently listed as Endangered by the IUCN.
