The Puerto Rican Nightjar (Antrostomus noctitherus) is a nocturnal bird species endemic to the island of Puerto Rico. It is characterized by its cryptic plumage, large eyes, and distinctive churring call. This species is primarily insectivorous, preying on nocturnal insects such as moths and beetles. The Puerto Rican Nightjar inhabits dry forests, scrublands, and coastal areas, where it nests on the ground among leaf litter. Due to habitat loss and predation by introduced species, the population of this nightjar is declining, and it is classified as Endangered by the IUCN.
