Puna Snipe, Gallinago andina, is a snipe of the family Scolopacidae that breeds in the montane wet grasslands of western South America, from Peru to northern Chile and north-western Argentina. It is a bird of the puna grassland zone in the Andes, where it uses damp places such as boggy streams, cushion bogs, reed-fringed lakes and rivers, and open reed marshes. The nominate form occurs in Peru, northern Chile, Bolivia and north-western Argentina, while G. a. innotata is confined to Antofagasta Region in northern Chile.
