Purple-chested Hummingbird, Polyerata rosenbergi, is a hummingbird of the family Trochilidae that breeds in western Colombia and north-west Ecuador. It was described by Boucard in 1895. It occurs in subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest and in heavily altered former forest. The species was once placed in Amazilia, but later work showed that genus to be split across unrelated lineages, so it was transferred to Polyerata. It is also known to be hunted by local indigenous people for the believed medicinal value of its beak.
