The Purple-headed Starling, scientifically known as Hylopsar purpureiceps, is a striking bird found in the tropical forests of West Africa. This species is known for its glossy purple head and vibrant green and blue plumage. It is a medium-sized starling with a strong, slightly curved bill. These social birds are often found in small flocks, foraging for fruits, insects, and nectar. Their melodious calls can be heard echoing through the forest canopy as they communicate with one another. The Purple-headed Starling plays a vital role in seed dispersal and pollination within its habitat.
