Purple-naped Lory, Lorius domicella, is a parrot of the Psittaculidae family that breeds in montane Seram in the Moluccas of Australasia. It is tied to forest on the islands of Seram, Ambon, and possibly Haruku and Saparua in South Maluku, Indonesia. The bird is mainly red, with a black crown that changes to purple on the nape, green wings, blue thighs and a yellow band across the chest. Its tail is red throughout, becoming darker towards the tip. It also has an orange bill, dark-grey eye-rings and orange-red eyes. Juveniles differ in bill, eye-ring, iris and chest pattern.
