Purple-tailed Imperial Pigeon, Ducula rufigaster, is a pigeon of the Columbidae family that breeds in New Guinea, Raja Ampat Islands and Yapen. It is also recorded from the lowland forests of these tropical and subtropical areas. A notable feature is that it can be affected by Gunabopicobia parasites. The species was described by Quoy and Gaimard in 1832.
