Puvel's Illadopsis is a small, secretive bird found in the dense undergrowth of primary and secondary forests in Central Africa. It has a distinctive olive-green plumage with a yellowish belly and a short, stout bill. This species is known for its melodious and repetitive song, often heard at dawn and dusk. Puvel's Illadopsis forages on the forest floor, feeding on insects, small fruits, and seeds. Due to habitat loss and fragmentation, the population of Puvel's Illadopsis is declining, and it is currently listed as Near Threatened by the IUCN.
