Red-billed Starling

Spodiopsar sericeus

The Red-billed Starling, scientifically known as Spodiopsar sericeus, is a medium-sized bird found in East Asia. It is characterized by its glossy black plumage, bright red bill, and yellow eye. This species is known for its melodious and varied songs, often heard in open woodlands, parks, and urban areas. Red-billed Starlings are omnivorous, feeding on fruits, insects, and small vertebrates. They are highly social birds, often seen in large flocks. Despite being adaptable to human-modified landscapes, habitat loss and degradation pose threats to their populations.
