Red-billed Starling, Spodiopsar sericeus, is a starling of the family Sturnidae that breeds in south and south-eastern China. It was first described in 1789 by Gmelin. The species is placed in the genus Spodiopsar and is the only recognised form within it, with no subspecies accepted. Its scientific name was once used in the genus Sturnus before later taxonomic revision moved it to its current placement. The bird’s range is within the Oriental Region, and its common name reflects the red bill that distinguishes it.
