Red-capped Coua, Coua ruficeps, is a cuckoo of north-west Madagascar, where it breeds in the island’s dry forest and moist lowland forest. It belongs to the family Cuculidae and was described by Gray, GR, 1846. A notable point in its history is that the olive-capped coua was once included with it as a subspecies, but is now recognised separately because of differences in plumage and vocalisation.
