Red-capped Flowerpecker, Dicaeum geelvinkianum, is a passerine of New Guinea and its satellites in Australasia. It is widespread across that range and occurs in forest and woodland, including secondary growth and mangroves. A common but easily overlooked bird, it has a short bill and tail. The male shows a red cap, red rump and a red spot on the breast. It was described by Meyer, AB, 1874, and belongs to the family Dicaeidae, the flowerpeckers.
