Red-eyed Dove, Streptopelia semitorquata, is a dove found across Africa, with its range extending through much of the land south of the Sahara and into Saudi Arabia and Yemen. It is a familiar bird in many habitats, though not in desert areas, and it can also occur in forests near rivers. The species is a member of the pigeon and dove family. It was first described by Rüppell in 1837.
