Red-eyed Thrush

Turdus turdoides

The Red-eyed Thrush, scientifically known as Turdus turdoides, is a medium-sized songbird found in sub-Saharan Africa. This thrush is known for its distinctive red eye and rich, melodious song. It is commonly found in woodland, savanna, and gardens, often foraging on the ground for insects, small invertebrates, and fruits. The Red-eyed Thrush is a sociable bird, often seen in pairs or small groups. Its plumage is predominantly brown with a speckled breast and a striking red eye ring. This species is not currently considered to be at risk and is widely distributed across its range.
