Red-fronted Parrot

Poicephalus gulielmi

The Red-fronted Parrot, scientifically known as Poicephalus gulielmi, is a medium-sized parrot native to the woodlands and savannas of Africa. These parrots are known for their striking red frontal band and vibrant green plumage. They are highly social birds, often forming large flocks and displaying strong pair bonds. Red-fronted Parrots are known for their playful and intelligent nature, making them popular as pets. In the wild, they feed on a variety of seeds, fruits, and nuts. Unfortunately, habitat loss and trapping for the pet trade have led to population declines in some areas.
