Emberiza bruniceps
The Red-headed Bunting (Emberiza bruniceps) is a small passerine bird found in Central Asia. Males have a striking red head and chestnut-brown upperparts, while females are more subtly colored with streaked brown plumage. This species is known for its distinctive song, often heard during the breeding season. Red-headed Buntings inhabit open grasslands, agricultural fields, and scrubby areas, where they forage for seeds and insects. They are known for their acrobatic flight displays during courtship. Although not currently classified by the IUCN, their population is believed to be declining due to habitat loss and degradation.
