Red-headed Cisticola

Cisticola haematocephalus

The Red-headed Cisticola is a small passerine bird found in grasslands and savannas of sub-Saharan Africa. It is known for its distinctive red head and long tail. This species is often observed perching on grass stalks and singing its melodious and repetitive song. Red-headed Cisticolas primarily feed on insects and seeds, foraging within the grassy vegetation. They are known for their acrobatic flight displays during courtship. Although widespread, habitat loss and degradation are potential threats to their populations.
