Alectoris rufa

The Red-legged Partridge is a medium-sized gamebird native to southwestern Europe. It has a distinctive appearance with a reddish bill, greyish-brown plumage, and striking red legs. These birds are often found in open countryside, farmland, and scrubland, where they forage for seeds, insects, and small invertebrates. They are known for their distinctive call, a repetitive 'chak-chak-chak' sound. Red-legged Partridges are commonly hunted for sport and their populations are stable in their native range.
