Red-shouldered Macaw

The Red-shouldered Macaw (Diopsittaca nobilis) is a small parrot species native to South America. These colorful birds are known for their vibrant plumage and playful behavior. They have a predominantly green body with red shoulders and blue and yellow accents on their wings and tail. Red-shouldered Macaws are social birds that form strong pair bonds and live in small flocks. They are often found in tropical forests and woodland areas, where they feed on fruits, seeds, and nuts. Due to habitat loss and capture for the pet trade, the conservation status of the Red-shouldered Macaw is listed as Near Threatened by the IUCN.
