Red-throated Tit, Melaniparus fringillinus, is a bird of southern Kenya and northern Tanzania, where it lives in dry savanna. It belongs to the family Paridae and was described by Fischer and Reichenow in 1884. The species was once placed in Parus, but a 2013 molecular study led to its transfer to Melaniparus after the group was shown to form a separate lineage.
