Red-winged Lark

Alaudala rufescens

The Red-winged Lark, scientifically known as Alaudala rufescens, is a small passerine bird found in parts of Asia. It is characterized by its sandy brown plumage with streaks on the back, and a distinctive red-brown patch on the shoulder. This lark is known for its melodious and varied song, often delivered in flight. It is commonly found in open grasslands, agricultural fields, and scrubby areas. The Red-winged Lark forages on the ground for seeds and insects, and is often seen in small flocks. While not currently considered globally threatened, habitat loss and degradation are potential threats to its populations.
