Red-winged Parrot

Aprosmictus erythropterus

The Red-winged Parrot (Aprosmictus erythropterus) is a medium-sized parrot native to Australia. It is known for its vibrant plumage, with males displaying bright red and green colors on their wings and a striking blue crown. Females have a more subdued coloration with green wings and a paler blue crown. These parrots are often found in open woodlands, forests, and coastal areas, where they feed on a variety of seeds, fruits, and blossoms. They are social birds, often seen in small flocks, and are known for their playful and acrobatic flight displays. The Red-winged Parrot is not currently considered to be at risk and is classified as Least Concern by the IUCN.
