Reddish-winged Bare-eye, Phlegopsis erythroptera, is an antbird of western and north-western Amazonia in South America, where it lives in humid lowland forest. It was described by Gould in 1855. The species is notable for the large ring of bare red skin around the eye shared by both sexes. It is found in the understorey of evergreen terra firme forest, and also in stunted white-sand woodland along the upper Rio Negro. Its range extends through Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and western Brazil.
