Reed Parrotbill, Paradoxornis heudei, is a passerine of the Paradoxornithidae family that breeds from eastern Mongolia through north-east China to south-east Russia. It lives in reedbeds across this East Asian range, where it depends on dense stands of reeds. A notable feature of the species is its short, broad and deep bill. It is the only parrotbill known to alter its appearance with the breeding season, showing different plumage in winter and summer. The northern form, P. h. polivanovi, is sometimes treated as a separate species, the northern parrotbill.
