Renauld's ground cuckoo

Carpococcyx renauldi

Renauld's ground cuckoo (Carpococcyx renauldi) is a medium-sized ground-dwelling bird found in the lowland forests of Borneo. It has a distinctive black and white plumage with a long tail and a prominent red eye. This elusive bird is known for its loud and distinctive calls that echo through the forest. Renauld's ground cuckoo is primarily insectivorous, foraging on the forest floor for insects and small invertebrates. Due to habitat loss and fragmentation, this species is facing threats to its survival.
