Prionops retzii
Retz's Helmetshrike (Prionops retzii) is a medium-sized bird found in the woodlands and savannas of sub-Saharan Africa. It is easily recognized by its striking black and white plumage, with a distinctive helmet-like crest on its head. This species is known for its gregarious nature, often forming small flocks and emitting loud, melodious calls. Retz's Helmetshrikes are primarily insectivorous, foraging for insects and small invertebrates in the foliage and on the ground. They are also known to feed on fruits and seeds.
