Ridley's Elaenia

Elaenia ridleyana

Ridley's Elaenia (Elaenia ridleyana) is a small passerine bird found in the Amazon rainforest of South America. It has a distinctive olive-green plumage with a pale yellow belly and a slightly hooked bill. This species is known for its melodious and repetitive song, often heard in the dense foliage of the forest. Ridley's Elaenia primarily feeds on insects and small fruits, foraging in the mid to upper levels of the forest canopy. It is often observed in mixed-species flocks, particularly during the breeding season. Despite its relatively wide distribution, the population trend of Ridley's Elaenia is currently unknown, and further research is needed to assess its conservation status.
