Rimitara Reed Warbler

Acrocephalus rimitarae

The Rimitara Reed Warbler is a small passerine bird endemic to the island of Rimitara in French Polynesia. It is characterized by its olive-brown upperparts, creamy underparts, and a distinct pale supercilium. This species is known for its melodious and varied song, which is a key feature of its breeding behavior. Rimitara Reed Warblers primarily inhabit dense vegetation near freshwater sources, such as marshes and wetlands, where they forage for insects and small invertebrates. Due to its restricted range and small population, the species is vulnerable to habitat loss and introduced predators.
