Ringed Teal

Ringed Teal, Callonetta leucophrys, is a duck in the Anatidae family and the order Anseriformes. It breeds in South America, with the IOC range given as south-east Bolivia to south-east Brazil and Uruguay. The species is native to marshes, pools and wooded wetland areas, and it is the only member of its genus. It was once grouped with perching ducks, but is now placed nearer to shelducks in Tadorninae. The bird has webbed toes with long, pointed claws, which let it perch on branches.
